A friend of mine made me a deal I almost couldn't pass up. He offered me his 6 month old '01 Harley Sportster
883 with less than 600 miles for my '97 Savage and take over his payments of $109. Sounded like a super deal.
Until I rode it. What a miserable uncomfortable hard riding scooter. It had been garage kept yet it has more rust than my 4-5 year old scoot. I thought Japanese chrome was poor, the HD was disgraceful. The older HD's and the upper scale ones seem ok. I guess the entry level bikes are just that.
A couple of weeks ago I test drove a '96 1200 sportster (11,000 miles)that looked good and ran too good (scared myself). Only fault was the dealer wanted $6,500 and it was a salvage rebuilt. I'm afraid it might be hard to resell if necessary.
Well, my little Suzy is still looking pretty good.
